    Emergency Medical Technician - Ambulance Service - Part Time

    Qualifications

    · High School diploma or equivalent

    · Certification as a NYS EMT

    · New York State issued driver's license with infraction free driving abstract

    · 1 + years 911 experience preferred

    · Emergency Vehicle Operators Course completion

    Benefits

    · The salary range for the role is $19.00 - $26.40 Hourly

    Responsibilities

    · Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks:

    · Receives emergency calls from dispatcher and promptly, safely responds to assignments

    · Ensures the safety of the patient and other pre hospital personnel at all times

    · Performs medical histories and performs physical exams as indicated on patients in the field

    · Initiates indicated treatment modalities according to written policies and medical control physician orders

    · Provides direct patient care from first contact through authorized hand-off at all times

    · Remains in-service until properly relieved or released

    · Accompanies the patient to the ED and monitors and treats the patient during transportation

    · Transports the patient to the appropriate emergency department and reports orally to the nurse and/or physician

    · Writes a comprehensive report documenting the situation at the scene, physical exam, orders received, treatments rendered, response to these treatments, and other information deemed pertinent

    · Maintains ambulance logs and submits detailed incident, accident, occurrence reports and statements when required

    · Operates the vehicle and equipment in a safe manner at all times

    · Safeguards all equipment

    · Maintains ambulances and other emergency vehicles and equipment in efficient working order, Replaces fuel, makes minor repairs, cleans and restocks the equipment and vehicles to maintain NYSDOH and WVAC regulatory standards

    · Reports any obvious mechanical malfunctions or deficiencies to officers immediately verbally and/or in writing

    · Wears issued uniform and maintains professional appearance while on duty

    · Maintains radio contact with appropriate 911 Center at all times

    · Remains Alert and Acknowledges Pager, Radio and CAD assignments promptly

    · Performs housekeeping tasks at WVAC properties and maintains appropriate logs in accordance with WVAC standards

    · Remains in assigned area when not on assignment

    · Complies with department vehicle in-service standards, including turn-out and ED turn-around

    · Follows NYS and WVAC Rules, Regulations and Protocols at all times

    · Performs heavy and awkward lifting of patients in difficult areas and terrain
