Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced ESL Teacher to join our team! As a PELA teacher, you will be responsible for delivering classes for non-native English speakers through engaging activities and effective methods that cover all language skills. You will create lesson plans and evaluate student progress over our 4-week terms. The ideal candidate is able to create a high energy, supportive, and encouraging classroom environment. The basic teaching schedule is 9AM-1PM, Monday-Friday, 48 weeks per year (12 4-week terms).

Responsibilities:

Prepare and deliver lesson plans using existing coursepacks

Assess student progress 1-2 times per 4-week term

Create a supportive and positive classroom environment

Maintain records of student attendance and grades

Participate in occasional after school activities and teacher meetings

Qualifications:

Previous experience as an ESL teacher or in a similar role is required

MA:TESOL or related Masters (BA with TESOL certificate may be considered with extensive experience)

Knowledge of ESL teaching methods

Excellent communication skills
