Essential functions
· Serves as instructor of a class of English language learners with a focus on speaking, listening, reading, writing, as well as integration of technology in the classroom
· Implements and customizes lesson plans for low-literacy population based on a standards-based curriculum
· In consultation with Department staff, implements strategies designed to maintain high student retention
· Evaluates student performance, discusses areas of improvement with students, and develops appropriate strategies to address needs
· In consultation with Department staff, participates as needed in funder site visits and ensures that class instruction meets funder requirements
· Attends and participates in regular staff development sessions and meeting
· Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
· BA and at least 4 or more years of experience in a similar role
· CELTA certification strongly preferred
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Experience working with low-literacy population preferred
· Knowledge of ESOL technology instruction
