The Teacher’s Assistant in an Early Education Program plays a crucial role in supporting the Lead/Head Teacher and ensuring a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for young children. This role involves assisting with daily classroom activities, providing individualized attention to students, and supporting the overall educational and developmental goals of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support:
Assist the Lead/Head Teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities.
Help with setting up and cleaning up classroom materials and equipment.
Supervise and engage with students during classroom activities, ensuring a positive and inclusive environment.
Student Interaction:
Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, addressing their academic and social needs.
Assist with behavioral management and support positive behavior strategies.
Foster a supportive and caring atmosphere, encouraging students’ emotional and social development.
Administrative Duties:
Help with classroom record-keeping, including attendance and student progress tracking.
Prepare and organize educational materials and resources.
Assist with communication and relaying information between parents and the school
Health and Safety:
Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
Assist with health-related tasks, including administering first aid if necessary(if CPR/First Aid Certified).
Follow all school policies and procedures related to child safety and emergency protocols.
Professional Development:
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Stay informed about current early education practices and methodologies.
