The Early Interventionist has a caseload of clients, referred through BabyNet and Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, and provides Family Training and Service Coordination
Responsibilities
Weekly home visits with each child on their caseload.
Working with parents/caregivers to provide quality Family Training/Special Instruction and Service Coordination services for children in accordance with policies set forth by BabyNet, SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, and Medicaid.
Working with other professionals and agencies
Ability to write professional reports/correspondence
Routine Documentation for each child on caseload
Understanding infant/child development
Developing and monitoring plans for each family/child on caseload
Ensuring appropriate procedures and timelines are followed
Have strong communication and organizational skills
Requirements:
*Must be able to pass standard background checks, (drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry and Sex Offenders Registry) *Must possess a valid SC driver's license
*Must have a reliable vehicle that is fully insured, for transportation to travel to client's natural environment
A bachelor’s degree in: Child/Human Development, Education: Early Childhood, Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, Sociology and/or other related fields
And, either: 1 year of experience in the field of early childhood education, OR 1 year experience working with infants and toddlers, OR 1 year experience with children age birth to 5 years with disabilities.
Experience in the field of Early Intervention Preferred but not required
