Learn & Discover Playschool Staten Island is seeking a classroom assistant to join our team. The assistant teacher will work with our licensed teachers to support children's learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment:

Curriculum support: Assist with lesson plans, activities, and curriculum development

Classroom management: Help enforce rules, maintain order, and prepare for lessons

Student care: Provide personal care, such as help with eating, using the bathroom, and hygiene

Observation and assessment: Observe children's behavior and progress, and report concerns to the lead teacher

Record keeping: Maintain records such as attendance, grades, and student progress notes

Communication: Communicate with parents and staff about children's progress

Health and safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards

Create a positive environment: Help create a warm, inviting, and stimulating learning environment

Daycare assistant teachers should be able to relate well to children, parents, and staff, and have good communication skills. They should also be physically able to move around the property and engage with children at their eye level. Diaper changing is required. Must be over 18 years old and hold a minimum of a high school diploma
