    Job Description

    3-5 years of experience in trade deductions, preferably in the food industry.

    As the Trade Deductions Coordinator (“TDC”), you will provide support to the Finance and Sales team. Your focus will primarily be on reconciling customer trade spend accounts against customer agreements and promotional contracts.

    The TDC plays a critical role in supporting the Finance department in ensuring that all trade spend programs and documentation are reconciled, validated, and analyzed in a timely and accurate manner.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Uphold the Company’s core values and rules of the game
    2. Compile, review and reconcile trade spend deductions from customer remittances (e.g. discounts, spoilages, penalties, MCB’s, advertising and promotion spend, demos, etc.)
    3. Obtain backup from customers for all deductions via retailer portals such as KeHE, Kroger, etc.
    4. Apply appropriate review notes to all deductions for simplified review by management, update monthly reporting, and ad hoc reporting as needed
    5. Analyze and verify customer debit claims
    6. Oversee accounts receivable team to ensure approved deductions are booked to the appropriate promotional general ledger accounts for monthly tracking
    7. Work with customers to obtain repayment for invalid claims in a timely manner
    8. Demonstrate teamwork by building strong working relationships with the Sales team, as well as the Finance team to understand various deduction programs and their accounting impact
    9. Ensure compliance with trade spend programs, and monitor for risks and opportunities
    10. Period-end close activities as related to trade spend including accrual calculation for trade deductions
    11. Support the A/R team with clearing deductions, as required

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Comfortable reviewing processes and providing solutions for improvements – which may include cross departmental communication
    2. Comfortable analyzing data and presenting results to other department and management teams
    3. Comfortable with excel pivot tables/functions including vlookups, sumifs, and various text functions
    4. Experience with Microsoft Navision ERP and Tableau reporting
    5. Ability to be pro-active and provide suggestions to management for possible solutions to challenges in trade deduction management
