Job Summary We are seeking a Seasoned Earthwork Estimator with 5 years + experience to join our team! As an Earthwork Estimator you are responsible for accurately estimating the costs and resources required for earthmoving and grading projects, including site preparation, excavation, fill operations, project plans, material and labor requirements. Also be able to source cost estimates to compile a comprehensive bid proposal for clients, and determining the financial viability of a construction project. The ideal candidate has previous Estimating Experience with 5 years construction experience, can work well within a team environment, and is comfortable working on multiple different job sites and projects.
Responsibilities
Analyzing Project Plans and Specifications:
Estimators must thoroughly review blueprints and specifications to understand the scope of the project and identify all necessary components.
Project Analysis:
Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to understand the scope of earthwork requirements.
Quantity Takeoff:
Accurately measure and calculate the quantities of earth to be moved, including excavation, fill, and grading.
Cost Estimation:
Determine the costs associated with earthwork activities, including labor, equipment, materials, and potential site challenges.
Bid Preparation:
Develop detailed and competitive bids for earthwork projects, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
Subcontractor Management:
Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Cost Control:
Monitor project costs throughout the earthwork phase and identify potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and project costs.
Site Visits:
Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information for accurate cost estimation.
Material and Labor Estimation:
Determine the quantities of materials required and estimate the labor hours needed for each task.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy is crucial in construction estimating, requiring meticulous attention to detail to avoid errors and ensure accurate cost projections.
Time Management: Estimators must be able to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and deliver accurate estimates in a timely manner.
Knowledge of Industry Standards: They must be familiar with industry standards, codes, and regulations related to construction.

This job offers a base pay plus commission
