East Lawn Funeral Homes has immediate openings for Facility Assistants in the Sacramento and Elk Grove area. The right candidate will be able to work without direct supervision, have the ability to anticipate the needs of the families we serve and follow through to complete tasks assigned by the funeral director or management with a sense of urgency.

JOB DUTIES:

· Answer phones and take appropriate initial action on first calls, service information, and messages for staff.

· Assist families for visitations by opening doors and escorting visitors to desired location.

· Assist funeral staff by providing compassionate service with respect and trustworthiness greeting visitors and handing out service folders.

· Assist clergy, pall-bearers, delivery personnel and other service participants by providing direction to the proper location.

· Assist clerical staff as needed by running errands, creating service folders, arranging flowers, retrieve clothing, etc.

· Compassionately release cremated remains to families using proper policy and procedure.

· Cleaning and janitorial duties to disinfect and clean funeral home, arrangement rooms and related areas to maintain a clean and attractive experience for families.

· Gas and clean vehicles to include hearse and vans.

· Run necessary errands such as delivering items to a family’s home, small item pick-up and delivery.

· Receive and record payments on accounts.

· Ability to operate media equipment to play music, video tributes and record or live stream services.

· Work a minimum of three shifts in a 3-month period to remain employed.

· Provide coverage for receptionist during rest and meal breaks or absence.

· Maintains office equipment such as printer and fax machines ensuring adequate paper and toner is available. Coordinates repairs or maintenance. Assists users in use of equipment.
