Job Summary
Ellie Mental Health is seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate Eating Disorder Specialist Therapist to join our team in Larchmont, NY. You will play a critical role in helping clients overcome eating disorders through individualized, evidence-based care. Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and treat clients with eating disorders, including but not limited to anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, and avoidant/restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), and other relevant therapeutic approaches.
Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions, addressing the emotional, psychological, and behavioral aspects of eating disorders.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including dietitians, medical professionals, and psychiatric providers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
Monitor client progress, adjust treatment plans as necessary, and maintain accurate clinical documentation, including diagnostic assessments, progress notes, treatment reviews, and case summaries.
Offer psychoeducation to clients and families regarding eating disorders, body image, nutrition, and the recovery process to enhance understanding and promote healing.
Participate in clinical team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to foster continuous professional growth and improve client outcomes.
Support clients in their recovery journey, helping them develop healthier relationships with food and their bodies while fostering emotional resilience and coping skills.
This role involves both in-person and telehealth services, allowing for a hybrid work schedule that accommodates both client needs and clinician flexibility.
Qualifications
Master's degree in a behavioral health field (e.g., psychology, counseling, social work) from an accredited institution.
Clinical licensure as an LMHC, LMFT, LCSW, or related credential in New York State.
Specialized training and experience in the treatment of eating disorders, with a strong understanding of the medical, psychological, and behavioral components of these conditions.
Familiarity with evidence-based treatment approaches for eating disorders, such as CBT, DBT, and FBT.
Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals, dietitians, and other care providers as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
Proficient in completing diagnostic assessments, creating treatment plans, and maintaining detailed clinical documentation.
Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to balance a moderate caseload and meet the needs of clients and families.
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office 365.
