NYC Real Estate Management Company seeks an experienced Plumber for a portfolio of walk-up properties in Manhattan. The ideal candidate must be able to efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes. The goal is to install and maintain well-functioning systems that transport water, waste, gases, or hot liquids. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Cut, assemble, and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. ruff-in, construction)
Modification of existing ruff-in
Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks)
Repair and replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, shower body, etc.
Light trouble shooting of domestic appliances (e.g. washing machines, dishwashers) and fixtures (e.g. sinks) etc.
Install and maintain gas and liquid heating systems (one-pipe steam and hydronic systems)
Weld or solder pipes and fitting together using various tools and techniques
Replace radiators
Handling and tracking of plumbing inventory
Respond to emergency plumbing calls as needed
Skills
Proven experience as a plumber
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations
Solid understanding of water distribution and disposal systems in residential and commercial buildings
General knowledge of boilers
Working knowledge of heating and ventilation systems
Knowledge of back flow preventer, RPG’s and gas
Knowledge of pumps, shut-off valves, basic electric, and sprinkler system a plus
Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
Ability to interact with clients exhibiting professionalism and politeness
Must be proactive with excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to trouble shoot issues effectively
Must be able to walk around and visually inspect premises, climb, stoop, bend, occasionally move or lift up to 50 pounds, stand and sit for long periods of time.
