    SUMMARY 

    The IT Manager is a key member of the Edlund Operations team who analyzes the business technology needs, and all other data processing problems for application to electronic data processing systems.   Additionally, this role requires an in depth understanding of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. They must also analyze or recommend commercially available software and or develop customized solutions. This position may also supervise the efforts of other information technology resources.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

    •  Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.

    • Develops technology strategies to support the overall business goals 

    • Assists in the year-end physical inventory planning and execution

    • Perform a variety of business data analyses 

    • Assist finance in monthly / yearly reconciliation activities

    • Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs, networks and systems

    • Develops and implements client/server applications and technology

    • Coordinate and link the computer systems within the organization to increase compatibility and facilitate information sharing

    • Develops customized ERP solutions, systems and reports to support organizational and departmental needs.

    • Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles and priorities

    • Expand or modify business systems to serve new purposes or improve work flow

    • Interview or survey employees, observe job performance and/or perform the job in order to determine what information is processed and how it is processed

    • Determine computer software or hardware needs to set up or alter business systems.

    • Train staff and users to work with computer systems and programs.

    • Analyze information processing and reporting needs, then plan and design computer systems accordingly

    • Assess the usefulness of pre-developed application packages and adapt them to suit business needs

    • Supervise supplemental IT resources or other support staff and or serve as project leader for particular business systems projects

    • Utilize the computer information systems in the analysis and solution implementation of business problems such as development of integrated production, inventory control, database querying/manipulation and financial costing systems.

    • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system solutions and implementation

    • Manages and maintains critical business systems, including servers, Oracle database, network infrastructure, ERP systems, and others as assigned

     OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS

    • Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Edlund Company and the department. 
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  
    • Ability to write technical and business correspondence.  
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to engineering team and/or employees.
    • Ability to use basic mathematical calculations and arithmetic. 
    • Ability to perform these operations using units of U.S and international monetary, weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
    • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

     SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Directly supervises the tasks of IT support staff, independent contractors, and vendors as required.
    • Indirectly supervises project team members.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 
    • Experience with ERP Systems, customized development, implementation and support
    • Familiarization with general business function such as engineering, sales, customer service, accounting, planning, purchasing, and production
    • General knowledge of manufacturing process and methods.

    • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

    • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     TECHNICAL SKILLS

    •  Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word and Outlook.

    • Proficiency with Oracle and Access Databases

    • Proficiency in SQL

    • Proficiency in Office365 and Sharepoint

    • Proficiency with Sophos Firewalls

    • Proficiency in Barracuda Backup and Email Security

    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

    • Crystal Reporting is a plus

    • Experience with IQMS is a plus.

    This is an on-site IT Manager position. Hours can be flexible with some remote work, but coverage for operation hours of 8am - 5pm will be needed. Exempt position will require 40+ hours per week.
