    Education Advisor Trainee-Non-Exempt

    Take this opportunity to learn about the programs offered by Career Development Solutions by working side-by-side with an experienced Education Advisor as they advise all types of program candidates, including those making career transitions, people upgrading their current skills, veterans transitioning from the military, the unemployed, and the underemployed. You’ll be introduced to every facet of the business by immersing yourself into the operations and IT department while training in the CDS division. You will gain valuable insight and experience that will help you become proficient in effectuating a positive, lasting impact on the lives of others. You will support the Education Advisor in various administrative functions as well as learning how to meet and connect with potential students, setting them on the path to careers that align with their interests and skills. The goal is to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to effectively consult with students to provide training solutions appropriate for each individual’s career goals and make recommendations to maximize their experience and efficiency. This position is not a remote position.

    • Assist in registration of initial classes and explain lab and testing procedures and policies.
    • Accurately prepare order agreements.
    • Gain a thorough understanding of the products, programs, certifications, and classes available to prospective students.
    • Learn to manage the prospect database.
    • Participate in social media activities and campaigns including video clips, photos, and surveys.
    • Train to manage front desk and center operations allowing you to provide center coverage when required.
    • Manage and follow up with leads as assigned by the Education Advisor or marketing department and escalate to EA as necessary.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Learn the role of an Education Advisor at Career Development Solutions. The goal is to advise current and prospective students regarding vocational education courses and programs that will enhance their future employment opportunities. Train and practice building and maintaining relationships with various funding sources and programs.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

    • Observe and assist in the enrollment process and the administration of assessment exams.
    • Create registration documents and write up order agreements.
    • Collect student graduate data.
    • Follow up on leads as assigned.
    • Document and assess interested individuals’ education and work history. Explore career goal interests.
    • Ensure all registration and application paperwork is properly completed. Coordinate same with students and funding sources, where applicable.
    • Identify and familiarize yourself with all funding sources and partners. Build rapport with vendor partners.
    • Assist with the organization of presentations to vendor partners.
    • Attend job and career fairs while observing EA as they meet with prospective students.
    • Gain a complete and ongoing understanding of the products, programs, certifications and classes available to students.
    • Learn to manage the prospect database through proper procedures regarding follow-up calls.
    • Become technologically proficient with various computer software programs necessary to accomplish the administrative tasks required in the position.
    • All other tasks assigned by supervisor.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Analytical ability to identify needs for career training and offer solutions to prospective and current consumers.
    • Sales experience and/or customer service skills strongly preferred.
    • Quick learning ability necessary to gain working knowledge of program offerings.
    • Strong organization skills.
    • Working knowledge of common software programs required.
    • Have reliable transportation and a valid drivers’ license with insurance.
    • Ability to successful clear a Motor Vehicle Records check. .

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience.
    • Customer service experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Frequent sitting and/or standing required.
    • Constantly operates a computer with use of hands/fingers.
    • Must be able to effectively communicate by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to coworkers or to the public and convey detailed spoken instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly.
    • Must be able to perceive the nature of sounds by ear.
    • Lifting or carrying objects 30lbs or less while using safe lifting techniques.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noise

    Weekend and Evening hours maybe required
