Job Description Summary
Are you passionate about advancing education and excellence in the field of abdominal transplantation? We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Education Resource Specialist to join our dynamic Abdominal Transplant Unit.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of training programs that will impact the lives of both patients and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver educational modules and continuing education events for all aspects of the abdominal transplant program, including outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.
• Support clinical staff and transplant coordinators with advanced training and resources, including orientation programs and ongoing education.
• Collaborate with the unit team to ensure adherence to OPN and CSM guidelines and integrate best practices into educational materials.
• Provide support for the SICU and work closely with the outpatient side of the transplant unit, including Aurora.
• Report directly to Rosemary and participate in a comprehensive 3-day classroom training program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Licenses/Certifications:
Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing
Completion of Basic Life Support
Other certification based upon specific nursing unit requirement
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
At least five (5) years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
Viewed as an “expert and leader” in current specialty
Principal Accountabilities:
Serves as an educational resource at the service level and for core hospital activities. Assesses, plans, develops, coordinates, implements and evaluates educational needs that are appropriate to target population.
Works independently to develop curriculum for identified learning needs.
Facilitates and coordinates individual learning plans.
Promotes team approach to healthcare delivery. Facilitates effective patient education at the service level.
Evaluates effectiveness of patient education.
Develops and maintains new employee orientation program. Acts as clinical resource for staff.
Communicates effectively with all levels of the healthcare team.
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences. Models service standards of providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and our workforce.

Compensation: $89,000 - $130,000 base salary annually, Full Comprehensive Benefits Package, PTO, Partial Relocation Assistance, and much more
