We’re hiring an enthusiastic Education Specialist or Special Education Teacher for an in-person, school-based position in Oakland, CA for the 2024-2025 school year! You’ll be managing a caseload of middle or high school students, focusing on IEP development, case management, and delivering specialized academic instruction. Responsibilities
Provide specialized instruction to students with learning disabilities and special needs, using a blended instructional model.
Lead the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Conduct and interpret assessments and standardized tests to track student progress.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists and psychologists, to address student needs.
Modify and develop curriculum based on each student's IEP and train general education teachers and paraeducators to support instruction.
Maintain and update special education records, including progress reports, IEPs, and evaluation data.
Ensure that students are receiving services per their IEPs and track their ongoing progress toward IEP goals.
Work closely with general education colleagues and administrators to deliver inclusive education through co-teaching, small group instruction, and 1:1 support.
Qualifications
REQUIRED: Valid CA Education Specialist or Special Education Teaching Credential (CTC).
At least 1 year of experience in Special Education preferred.
Ability to provide direct, in-person services to students.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Positive and team-oriented attitude with a passion for working with diverse populations.
Knowledge of Special Education law and best practices.
Technologically proficient and able to manage digital student records.
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive salary range: $70,000 - $95,000 annually, depending on experience.
