BIlingual Education Supervisor (Must be fluent in Spanish)
The Education Supervisor will be responsible for the operations of the Puentes Hacia el Futuro elementary and middle school programming. This position reports to the Education Director. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following ● Implement after-school and summer programming for elementary and middle school age groups. ● Oversee core team of 1-4 paid contractor facilitators for school-year and summer programming. ● Manage up to approximately 60 annual volunteers and 1-3 student interns. ● Foster positive, long-term relationships with students and families. ● Support curriculum development for the afterschool and summer programs ● Serve as the main point person for relationships with Southwark School’s administration, teachers, and staff. ● Identify and manage compliance with COVID-19 safety procedures for in-person programming and events. ● Support other education programs as needed ● Identify and manage compliance with school protocols of child’s safety ● Train and onboard volunteers and staff ● Engage in on-going, strategic reflection and evaluation of programming structures and content in collaboration with students and families. ● With the Education Director, develop and iterate strategies for student and parent leadership development and involvement in program decision-making. ● Collaborate with other Puentes de Salud staff and teams to integrate Education programming with other services/projects to better serve students, families, and clients ● Serve as the main point of contact for relevant external partners and relationships. ● Track and analyze data from Puentes Hacia el Futuro programming for internal records and external reporting. ● With the Education Director and other relevant staff, prepare narratives for grant writing and funding opportunities and reporting. ● Support other aspects of Puentes’ evolving work as needed and assigned.
Required Qualification ● A bachelor’s degree in education, human development, or a related social science or commensurate experience in a related field is required. ○ Graduate or advanced training is a plus. ● One to three years of work experience in a related field, as well as experience with refugee or immigrant populations, are required. ● Oral and written fluency in Spanish is required. ● Curriculum writing experience is a plus ● The Education Supervisor is expected to demonstrate competence with building and growing family relationships, navigating local structures for educational and mental health support, and working as part of a multi-faceted team spanning Puentes de Salud and various partner organizations. ● This employee must be able to use Microsoft office and Google suite proficiently and must be self-directed and able to work well independently.
