    Job Description

    The Egg Warehouse Manager directs the day-to-day pick-up of hatching eggs from contract breeder farms to the warehouse and subsequent delivery to customers (internal/external) via a contract hauler. Will also assist the Breeder Manager in controlling costs within the warehouse and for the quality assessment of hatching eggs for established standards.

    • Provide supervision and direction to team members at two egg warehouses to that ensure that egg shipping units are built correctly and load trucks as schedule dictates while maintaining focus on cost, policies and safety.
    • Sell excess hatching eggs to outside customers to balance company’s needs. This is done by contacting outside buyers and negotiate selling price (within guidelines set forth by Breeder Manager) and quantities of excess eggs to sell.
    • Employee relations with hourly team members to include hiring, scheduling, training, motivating, evaluating, discipline, and terminations.
    • Safety coordinator for all of Arkansas Breeder Department.
    • Schedule egg flow into and out of warehouse for Foster Farms requirements. Responsible for setting up transportation for Sell Eggs using outside vendor and communicating with the contract breeder ranches and hatcheries.
    • Maintain QC program for eggs to include the egg warehouse and egg transport trucks.
    • Expanded Q.C. functions as needed for fertility and biosecurity and assisting and alerting Breeder manager in corrective action on egg handling procedures and opportunities.
    • Monitor and maintain all shipping, medication and vaccine supplies, order when needed.
    • Gather and report required information to appropriate departments (i.e. shipping bill of laden and vaccine/medication usage to accounting).
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Material or Business Management preferred or equivalent experience (2+ years of warehouse operation or supply chain experience).
    • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated MS Office proficiency with emphasis in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Understanding FIFO method of rotation for warehouse inventory.
    • Good mathematical background to be able to perform calculations on quality, productivity, timecards, reports, etc.
    • Able to evaluate team members fairly and objectively.
    • Must have excellent organizational and planning skills.
