Job Title: Electric Vehicle and Diesel Technician
Location: Woodridge, IL
Onsite/ Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location
Pay Rate : $35-38/hr on W2
Job Description : Electric Vehicle and Diesel Technician
• Diagnoses mechanical, hardware, software and systems failures and electrical troubleshooting using established procedures
• Prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and tests prototype and current product class 5-8 trucks and buses.
• Performs maintenance, testing and calibration of repaired products
• Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service ability issues
• May communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair, but generally without direct client contact.
• Use oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, current probes to make measurements.
• Preferred experience utilizing Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewesoft, and LabView to collect and analyze data.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams Chat.
• Understanding Electrical Circuits and Components
• Wiring and Soldering Skills
• Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, drive trains, steering, braking, material handling, and operator comfort systems
• Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings and procedures, and governmental regulations.
Minimum Requirements
• Associate’s degree
• At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience
Desired Skills
• Previous mechanic experiences involving commercial truck and engine assembly, repair, and fabrication
• Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostics background
• Vehicle experience that includes some of the following: commercial vehicles, off-highway vehicles, or agriculture vehicles
• Experience with alternative fuels, including EV (electric vehicles), and/or Propane
• Experience with Cummins/Allison/Eaton/Duramax
• Training/Education as a Truck mechanic, and as a Diesel Engine mechanic
• Experience with welding fabrication with Tig, Mig, Stick, Oxy-Acetylene Welding skills & plasma cutting
• Knowledge of multimeter and/or module programming, standard electronic diagnostics equipment
• Prior dealership or fleet service experience
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
