    Job Summary: The Manager of Government Sales is responsible for leading and managing the company's efforts to secure and manage government contracts and projects. This role involves developing strategies to grow government business, building relationships with key government agencies, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Manager will work closely with internal teams to ensure the successful execution of government projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Business Development:

    Identify and pursue new government contracting opportunities at the federal, state, and local levels.

    Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth objectives in the government sector.

    Monitor and analyze government market trends and competitor activities.

    1. Relationship Management:

    Build and maintain strong relationships with key government agencies and procurement officials.

    Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and government meetings.

    Act as the primary point of contact for all government clients.

    1. Proposal and Bid Management:

    Lead the preparation and submission of bids, proposals, and RFQs/RFPs for government projects.

    Ensure all proposals are compliant with government regulations and requirements.

    Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and resources for proposals.

    1. Contract Management:

    Oversee the negotiation and administration of government contracts.

    Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.

    Manage contract modifications, amendments, and renewals.

    1. Team Leadership:

    Lead and mentor a team of sales professionals focused on government contracts.

    Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.

    Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.

    1. Financial Management:

    Develop and manage the government sales budget.

    Monitor financial performance of government contracts and implement corrective actions as necessary.

    Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to senior management.

    1. Compliance and Risk Management:

    Ensure adherence to all government regulations and compliance standards.

    Identify and mitigate risks associated with government contracts.

    Stay updated on changes in government contracting laws and regulations.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    Minimum of 7 years of experience in government sales, preferably within the electrical contracting or construction industry.

    Proven track record of securing and managing government contracts.

    Strong understanding of government procurement processes and regulations.

    Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

    Strong leadership and team management abilities.

    Proficient in CRM software and sales management tools.

    Ability to travel as needed.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to travel to government offices and job sites as required.

    Ability to work in an office environment and use standard office equipment.

    Work Environment:

    This position typically works in an office setting, but frequent visits to government offices and job sites are required.

    Occasional travel may be necessary.
