Butterfly Staffing is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer for our prestigious Architectural, Engineering, and Construction client in Virginia Beach, VA. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented professional who collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to produce high-quality engineering documents. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and organizational abilities are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist engineers in preparing construction documents for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.

• Coordinate with architects, mechanical/plumbing engineers, and other trades for power and control requirements.

• Support development of electrical system one-line diagrams.

• Perform field verification and documentation of existing electrical systems for renovation projects.

• Communicate with manufacturer representatives to identify appropriate solutions for specific applications.

• Participate in construction administration including RFI responses, submittal reviews, site visits, and punch list verification.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience in a consulting engineering environment.

• Working knowledge of design software such as Revit and AutoCAD.

• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC), State Energy Codes, NFPA, and FGI guidelines.

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related field preferred, or equivalent training in Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD).
