    Job Title: Electrical Designer

    Responsibilities:

    The Electrical Designer position at Delan Associates, Inc. is focused on providing essential technical knowledge and performing design work for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. The role involves preparing and checking designs of intermediate complexity, coordinating technical issues, and ensuring compliance with project quality plans and schedules. The designer will also support procurement and construction administration activities, making it a critical role in the successful execution of projects.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare and check designs of intermediate complexity utilizing 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools.
    • Coordinate technical issues with other disciplines, project management, vendors, and clients.
    • Execute work in compliance with Project Quality Plan and procedures.
    • Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
    • Provide technical support for equipment and material procurement, including vendor submittals.
    • Support construction administration activities, including responding to requests-for-information and field changes.

    Requirements

    • Associate degree in a related technical field and a minimum of ten (10) years of work-related experience.
    • Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local codes and standards.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with project management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
    • Technical knowledge necessary to complete the job and knowledge of discipline codes and standards.
    • Ability to perform work in compliance with applicable codes, statutes, and guidelines.
    • Attention to detail and ability to work in a time-effective manner.
    • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in word processing, email, spreadsheets, and presentations.
    • Experience providing EPC services on industrial projects.
    • Proficiency in 3D modeling and 2D CADD tools in a multi-discipline environment.

    Nice-to-haves

    • Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials.
    • Experience with design of systems for nuclear facilities under ASME NQA-1 requirements.
    • Practical field experience.
    • EPC project experience for U.S. Department of Energy or other U.S. Federal Government Agencies.
    • Advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD systems and procedures, including Intergraph SmartPlant Electrical software.
