Axillon Aerospace Baltimore is an industry leader in Antenna and Radome solutions for Electronic Warfare (EW) applications. We have been in continuous operation since 1965 through various parent companies, most recently acquired by SK Capital Partners in late 2022. The site has a strong history of producing innovative designs that operate in the most severe environments.

Axillon Aerospace Baltimore is searching for an Electrical Engineer to join our team who will be responsible for the design and development of various antenna and radome products. They will be responsible for electrical modeling and analysis and test verification of designed products. They will work closely with other antenna engineers, manufacturing engineers and operations personnel to support various programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Design

• Utilize Ansys HFSS modeling tools to design various antenna & radome assemblies.

• Serves as the Electrical Engineer on development programs to ensure that engineering tasks are assigned, schedules are met, and work is completed within budget.

• Supports other team members in the various phases of the design effort.

• Generate statements of work, coordinates with vendors for environmental testing efforts.

• Interfaces with customers to answer questions, make presentations, provide product application data, and support program managers.

Manufacturing and Operations Support

• Provide support to Manufacturing to answer questions or resolve technical issues related to the manufacture of the antenna & radome products.

• Participates in Material Review Board (MRB) and dispositions discrepant material.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Electrical/RF Engineer in an antenna development focused role.

• Working knowledge of an EM simulation tool (Ansys HFSS)

• Experience with mechanical and environmental testing for flight qualification

• Ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; with RF Courses or a Master’s Degree in Engineering

• Ten (10) years of experience as an Electrical/RF Engineer in an antenna & radome development focused role.

• Proficient in EM simulation tool (HFSS)

• Experience with CAD (Solidworks or CATIA preferred)

• Experience preparing proposals, including the technical portions, and cost estimation.

• Active Secret security clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking

• Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force to move objects

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate; ear protection occasionally required

• Work usually performed in air-conditioned office and factory environment

Required Experience

• 1+ year experience in the similar field or position
• High school education with Bachelor or Associate degree preferred
• Good communication, organization, and inter-personal skills a must. Ability to work under pressure and react quickly, ability to work with little or no supervision
