Support Product Management and Marketing with developing SOR, TSOR and Detailed Design documentation for standard product controls and electrical components with the focus being on electrical architecture, control concepts and control functionality.
The Electrical Engineer applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to electrical system designs. Contributes to the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, or systems. Being an Electrical Engineer requires a bachelor's degree of Electrical Engineering. Works directly with more senior engineers to develop new designs and solutions. In addition, Electrical Engineer typically reports to supervisor or manager. Being an Electrical Engineer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Working as an Electrical Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.
Support engineering projects with developing schedules, work plans, and technical documentation.
Select and evaluate electrical components based on specifications and requirements of/for the final product.
Communicate with part suppliers for both quotation and product support when needed.
Develop software (embedded systems, PC based, …) for control systems and test equipment.
Support hardware development for industrial control systems and test equipment.
Design electrical layouts of industrial control solutions, support internal and external prototyping, plan and conduct engineering and validation testing to evaluate product performance characteristics.
Actively participate in improving and developing software, hardware and test engineering processes and procedures.
Support the engineering of custom system solutions to meet customer specifications based on their needs regarding system footprint, available interfaces to communication networks and work processes.
Actively participate in various phases of the commercialization and project management process, driving the final product to commercial success within time and budget.
Manage initial cost estimates, procurement of prototypes, and alpha test programs in the lab. Assist with beta testing in the field at customer sites.
Provide lab support for internal development and customer demonstrations, including system set-up, test, evaluation, and tear down.
Support initial product start-up at the manufacturing facility. Participate in the initial product builds and, when required, evaluate new vendors, and investigate start-up quality issues.
Work cross-functionally to solve problems, manage changes and provide technical advice and assistance to achieve defined project goals, complete tasks and meet resource requirements.
Work with marketing on the successful introduction of new and improved products into the marketplace by providing technical support and training to customers, service engineers, and internal personnel.
Provide ongoing troubleshooting and quality problem assistance to the manufacturing operations as needed.
Occasionally travel to customer sites and other locations as needed, and as assigned.
Perform other related responsibilities as needed and as assigned.
