  • Responsibilities

    As an Electrical Engineer II, you will play an essential role in supporting engineering projects from inception to completion. The Electrical Engineer Level II will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and implementing electrical systems for utility and industrial projects. This role requires an intermediate level of engineering knowledge, project experience, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The individual will perform technical calculations, develop detailed plans, and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements.

    Key Responsibilities • Prepare and review electrical system designs, including single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics. • Conduct load calculations, fault current analyses, and equipment sizing. • Lead and execute designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems (4–69kV), including field notes, drawings, specifications, and calculations for Senior Engineer review. Safely perform field walk-downs to document conditions and develop material and labor specifications. • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and drafters to ensure deliverables meet client requirements. • Assist in project scheduling and resource planning. • Provide technical input during project meetings and site visits. • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE, NESC) and client specifications. • Review and interpret vendor and contractor submittals for compliance with project specifications. • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during the design and construction phases. • Provide technical support for system upgrades, testing, and commissioning activities. • Prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and bid documents. • Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and correspondence. • Collaborate on quality assurance processes to ensure project accuracy and adherence to standards.

    Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college, or a closely related field. • Valid Driver’s License with the ability to travel to client job sites. • Engineer in Training (FE Passed) • 5-10 years of experience with electrical design, preferably in the utility sector • Familiarity with engineering software and tools relevant to your discipline. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats. • Collaborative mindset and a willingness to work in a team-oriented environment. • Attention to detail and commitment to quality in all aspects of work.

    Preferred Qualifications • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or close to getting it • Advanced knowledge of power distribution, substations, or utility systems. • Proficiency in relevant software such as AutoCAD, GIS tools, Pole Loading Analysis software, etc. Why you will love working at Elcora: At Elcora Engineering Solutions, we are committed to providing a supportive work environment.
