SPIN Global is a Maryland-based public benefit corporation that exists to disrupt disasters from neighborhoods to nations. We are seeking qualified applicants to build a deployment-ready cadre, prepared to support response operations as opportunities arise. Applicants must possess a FEMA Entry on Duty (EOD).
Responsibilities
- Assess and analyze disaster-impacted electrical systems, identifying required repairs and recovery strategies.
- Design and develop electrical system solutions to support disaster recovery efforts, ensuring compliance with FEMA standards.
- Prepare and review technical reports and recovery project plans for electrical systems.
- Utilize FEMA's Grants Portal to manage project documentation and maintain transparency.
- Provide technical expertise for determination memorandums and appeals related to electrical system recovery.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive infrastructure recovery strategies.
- Stay updated on FEMA policies, regulations, and training requirements.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 5 years of experience and professional registration or
- Bachelor's Degree with 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
- Completion of FEMA courses preferred:
- IS-1000: Public Assistance Program and Eligibility
- IS-1001: The Public Assistance Delivery Model Orientation
- IS-1002: FEMA Grants Portal - Transparency at Every Step
- IS-1004: The FEMA Site Inspection Process
- IS-1018: Determination Memorandums and Appeals
- 7116: Program Delivery Manager
- 7117: Site Inspection
- Proficiency in electrical engineering software and tools for analysis and design.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Work onsite in North Carolina.
- EOD Required.
