Electrical Estimator - Electrical GC - Base salary to 130k/year - San Diego, CA
Our client is an Electrical GC that specializes in government contracted public works and military base projects throughout Southern California and Arizona, specifically San Diego and Yuma areas. While they generally work in low voltage Division 26, they do handle the more complex side of that, such as power upgrades, underground electrical pathways, and installation of new switch gear and transformers.
In this role, the Electrical Estimator will be working primarily out of the San Diego office, in Sorrento Valley (also hiring for the Yuma, AZ office). The Electrical Estimator will be bidding on federal/military contracted electrical construction projects worth anywhere from 150k to 6 million dollars. The Electrical Estimator must understand all aspects of Division 26 electrical work, preferably on government projects.
Responsibilities:
Perform takeoffs and bid on government electrical projects using Procore and Bluebeam
Assist in budgeting, contracts, and invoicing for projects
Monitor work primarily from the office, with occasional site walks
Communicate and collaborate with PMs and clients
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, schematics, etc.
Manage government / public works project documentation requirements
Qualifications:
5+ years field experience in electrical construction
2+ years experience in electrical estimating, or at least extensively in performing electrical takeoffs
Ability to generate Estimates based off plans and drawings
Ability to navigate government bidding processes
Thorough knowledge of electrical work, with experience in the field and the office
Proficiency in MS Office and either Procore, Bluebeam, or similar software
Ability to work well in a small team environment in the San Diego or Yuma office
Compensation:
Base Salary in the 90k - 130k/year range
Health insurance covered 100% for employee (50% for dependents)
