    Job Overview:

    JL Electrical is hiring for a electrical estimator which will be responsible for calculating the estimated costs associated with electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. They work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure accurate and competitive pricing on electrical projects.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Analyzing Blueprints and Technical Documents:
    • Review and interpret electrical plans and specifications to prepare a comprehensive project estimate.

    • Understand project scope by collaborating with engineers, architects, and other professionals.

    1. Estimating Costs:
    • Calculate the total costs of materials, labor, equipment, and any other expenses that may affect the project.

    • Adjust estimates according to various factors like required timelines, potential risks, and economic trends.

    1. Preparing Proposals:
    • Compile detailed proposals for clients that include analysis, timelines, costs, and the necessary documentation.

    • Present proposals in a clear and concise manner, ensuring all technical and financial details are easy to understand.

    1. Project Management Support:
    • Provide support to project managers by offering insights on cost-related issues.

    • Monitor changes in scope or schedule that may affect the cost and adjust estimates accordingly.

    1. Vendor and Client Relations:
    • Negotiate with vendors and suppliers to get high-quality products at cost-effective prices.

    • Maintain good relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations to ensure client satisfaction.

    1. Maintaining Records:
    • Keep detailed records of past project estimates and actual costs for future reference.

    • Use historical data to refine estimating processes and techniques.

    1. Compliance and Standards:
    • Ensure all estimations comply with current laws, regulations, and standards applicable in the electrical industry.

    • Stay updated with the latest energy codes and standards.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience with electrical systems and their installation, maintenance, and repair.

    • Advanced knowledge of estimating software and databases.

    • Strong attention to detail with excellent mathematical and analytical skills.

    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

    • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.

    • Proven ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.

    Education:

    • A degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or a related field is typically required.

    • Certifications in cost estimation or project management may be advantageous.

    Experience:

    • Must have experience in electrical estimation or a related field is highly beneficial.

    Requirements:

    -Must have a valid Driver license for minimum of 3 years.

    -30 % Travel required to visit sites.
