Powergen Controls is an engineering service provider and OEM manufacturer. We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This role can be up to 80% travel, making it ideal for individuals who thrive on new experiences and enjoy working in different locations. Technicians travel Monday through Friday and are typically home on weekends.
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and commissioning power generation control systems at various sites across the country. You must be able to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members and clients.
Powergen Controls Technicians travel to client sites nationwide to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of power generation control systems. Working independently, they will identify and resolve technical issues while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with customers, providing clear, professional written and verbal updates on project status and technical findings. They will also be expected to effectively document service activities, technical issues, and resolutions in service reports.
Key Responsibilities
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
Ability to troubleshoot, maintenance, and repair electrical equipment and controls.
Ability to wire industrial control panels, switchboards and MCCs.
Experience performing field commissioning and startup activities.
Must have Knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
Will be expected to complete all site documentation in a timely manner; including but not limited to, weekly time sheets, signed Field Service Reports and email reports to customer project managers.
Communicate technical information and troubleshooting solutions clearly with other members of Powergen Controls team, project managers and end customers.
Must be willing to stay current on all safety and technical training; adhere to company, industry, and client safety protocols and standards.
Knowledge of AutoCAD, perform updates to client electrical drawings, including one-lines, diagrams, and schematics.

Qualifications:
Technical School or a 2-year degree in Electrical Engineering or 2 years relative work experience
Experience with Microsoft office.
Must be eligible to work in the USA and able to travel internationally would be a bonus
Must pass a drug screen and a background check and have a valid driver's license.
