Powergen Controls is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Technician. Powergen Controls technicians are responsible for ensuring the end-to-end safety, quality, and performance of power generating equipment across the US and around the world. The ideal candidate thinks critically, can work well independently, and is a problem solver. Powergen Service Technicians are provided with safety and technical training and full office support. If hired, Technicians will be provided with standard tooling, testing equipment, a laptop, smart phone, and company expense card.
Responsibilities: • Develop and implement electrical and mechanical technical practices. • Read electrical drawings and schematics • Knowledge of AutoCAD • Troubleshoot, maintenance, and repair electrical equipment and controls. • Stay current on all safety and technical training; adhere to company, industry, and client safety protocols and standards. • Perform updates to client electrical drawings, including one-lines, diagrams, and schematics. • Design, control, and implement electrical systems and products. • Provide technical insight on the function and best practices of electrical power systems. • Select products and installation methods to deliver value-driven solutions. • Wire and cable industrial control panels, switchgears, and MCCs. • Perform field commissioning and startup activities. • Knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.. • Complete all site documentation in a timely manner; including but not limited to, weekly time sheets, signed service and repair order, materials used and report writing. • Communicate technical information and troubleshooting solutions clearly with customer project managers and end customers.

Qualifications: • Technical School or a degree in Electrical Engineering or 2 years relative work experience • Experience in an MSc is advantageous
