  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    • The Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Technician will collaborate with maintenan ce and operations teams to resolve control systems and process failures.
    • The EIC Tech will be the subject matter expert for the site in matters relating to control systems.
    • Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting control system failures and identifying s olutions while educating peers and maintenance staff.
    • Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations to make necessary changes to eq uipment for process improvements, system upgrades, preventative procedures, product changes, and new product launches.
    • Improve equipment uptime and contribute to Plant reliability efforts.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement standards to maintain the controls architecture and integrity.
    • Provide engineering technical support to maintenance and plant operations to deliver performance, safety, and quality improvements, as well as cost savings initiatives.
    • Provide leadership and supervision to engineering firms, construction contractors, and equipment vendors.
    • Share technical expertise to build controls knowledge and capability within the mainte nance team.

    Job Duties

    • 5+ years of relevant experience (Engineering, Maintenance, Project management, Plant Operations)

    • Effective interpersonal skills, motivation, and commitment to lead and direct others to deliver results.

    • Continuous improvement mindset with experience delivering process improvements.

    • Strong working knowledge of Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley suite or similar of P LC and controls products (e.g., ControlLogix, PanelView, Factory Talk, Asset Centre, VFDs )

    • Strong working knowledge of industrial controls networks (e.g., Ethernet IP)

    • Strong working knowledge of process instrumentation

    • Working knowledge of OT (Operational Technology) systems and hardware

    • Ability to develop, read and interpret electrical drawings.

    • Working knowledge of industrial power and lighting applications, electrical safety, and power distribution

    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

    • Job Type: FT Starting

    • Salary: $30-50/hr depending on employers offer and candidates qualifications

    • Overtime: time and a half over 40

    • Expected OT: 10 hours a week.

    • Workweek: Mon-Friday 7-3 or 9-5 some on call to cover for emergency, plant outages, etc

    • Can they work extra days? Yes, on call, extra if over 40

    • Payment Type: Direct Deposit

    • Payment Days: biweekly 2x a month

    • English Level Requirement: Advanced, they will be working with Engineers who only speak English Must attend the job training? Yes, Some bilingual

    • Physical requirements: Physical Requirements and Working Conditions • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods requiring stair and ladder climbing and routinely lifting to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g., hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, etc.). Work with hazardous materials may be required. • All personnel will participate in a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
