  • Responsibilities

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervise Electrical Activities: Plan and supervise the activities of employees engaged in electrical maintenance and construction projects.
    • Electrical Power Distribution: Develop, implement, and maintain the mine site electrical power distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient power delivery.
    • Control Circuits: Design and implement control circuits for various mine site equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
    • Project Management: Oversee electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
    • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of electricians and electrical technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, project progress, and system performance.
    • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased system reliability.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related electrical discipline is preferred.
    • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within an industrial environment, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
    • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution networks, and control circuits. Familiarity with underground mining electrical systems is a plus.
    • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing electrical teams.
    • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues effectively.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
