    Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

    Location: Detroit, MI

     

    Vital Tech Solutions is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor for an organization with a strong legacy spanning over 100 years. The ideal candidate should be an experienced and knowledgeable Electrical Supervisor with an active electrical journeyman license to oversee and manage the electrical maintenance and construction projects at our facility. The successful candidate will plan, develop, and implement the underground electrical power distribution network, as well as the individual control circuits for site equipment. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan and supervise the activities of employees engaged in electrical maintenance and construction projects.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain underground electrical power distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient power delivery.
    • Design and implement control circuits for various mine site equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.
    • Oversee electrical projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
    • Ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and company policies, fostering a culture of safety within the team.
    • Lead and mentor a team of electricians and electrical technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
    • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.
    • Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, project progress, and system performance.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased system reliability.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related electrical discipline is preferred.
    • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory role within an industrial environment, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
    • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution networks, and control circuits; familiarity with underground electrical systems is a plus.
    • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing electrical teams.

     

    Work Environment

    • Must be able to wear the required PPE (steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, safety harness and electrical safety equipment).
    • Must be able to work safely in varying temperatures in production/warehouse workplace and outside year-round.
    • Must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling loads up to 50+ lbs. Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat, and reach as required to work on equipment.
