The opportunity for you:
Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking a UL – 891 Panel Assembler. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical switchgear and control panels that comply with UL 891 standards, which set safety and performance requirements for dead-front switchboards. This role involves reading blueprints, interpreting electrical diagrams, and using hand and power tools to assemble components and ensure the final product meets quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly & Wiring: Assemble electrical switchboards, including enclosures, busbars, circuit breakers, and other components, according to engineering diagrams and UL 891 specifications.
- Blueprint & Schematic Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate and compliant assembly.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Conduct routine tests on completed switchgear, ensuring electrical integrity, mechanical stability, and compliance with UL 891 standards. Document and troubleshoot any issues.
- Tool & Equipment Handling: Utilize various hand and power tools to assemble and install components, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to company policies, UL 891 standards, and safety regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain records of work processes, tests, and inspections, ensuring traceability and compliance with quality control requirements.
Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of UL 891 standards and electrical switchgear assembly.
- Experience: Previous experience in electrical assembly, ideally with switchboards or similar equipment.
- Skills: Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, attention to detail, and manual dexterity for precise assembly work.
- Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of OSHA standards and a strong commitment to workplace safety practices.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
