Job Description: Electrical Systems Engineer
The Electrical Systems Engineer will lead development efforts of the catheter electrode array and system accessories for recording high resolution biological signals at microvolt levels. This is a hands-on position that will provide the opportunity for the right individual to build and manage a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Electrical design aspects of the catheter
- System design, connectivity and interoperability of equipment
- Comply with FDA and ISO regulations related to medical device design and development including electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility
- Design products for compatibility with hardware in an EP lab, including connectivity and noise sources
- Work with both catheter and software teams to design solutions for system level requirements
- Responsible for the planning and execution of pre-clinical animal studies including the generation of protocols and study reports
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors electrical/biomedical engineering with instrumentation focus required
- 5+ years working in medical equipment or related hardware instrumentation for measuring biological signals
- Highly desired:
- Working knowledge of medical device standards including EN60601-1 product design and testing
- Experience working in an ISO13485 or similar regulated environment
- Experience with electronic signal conditioning, digital and analog circuits, electrode design
- Medical cable and connector specifications and testing
- Desirable:
- Experience working with third party vendors
- Previous experience in EP industry
- Previous experience with micro-scale multi-layer flexible circuit design and manufacture
- Project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable working in both a fast paced and rigorous early-stage environment with fluid requirements, as well as a regulated later stage process driven setting
