    Job Description

    We are seeking an Electrical & Software Systems Engineer with expertise in high voltage and 12v DC systems, as well as software development skills for electric propulsion applications. This role involves the development, testing, and production of integrated hardware and software systems for advanced marine electric propulsion. Ideal candidates are passionate about electric vehicles, boating, and possess experience in software engineering, thriving in a fast-paced, environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • * Design and layout high voltage and low voltage electrical systems tailored to marine applications.
      
      • Create and maintain electrical schematic drawings for both production and development stages.
      • Lead the development of new products, including electrical propulsion, control systems, and sensors.
      • Define component placement, high voltage routing, and adhere to standards for safe high voltage installations.
      • Test and validate prototype components, ensuring reliability in marine environments.
      • Build and specify custom wiring harnesses for development and production systems.
      • Work with our software vendors to develop and implement embedded software for control and monitoring of our control systems.
      • Work with CAN protocols (including J1939) for networked communication across vehicle systems.
      • Develop and validate models to simulate and enhance system performance.
      • Document software processes and workflows to guide production teams and technicians.
      • Integrate hardware and software systems, performing tests to validate functionality and reliability.
      • Collaborate with vendors to define component specifications and performance standards.
      • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics of both electrical and software issues.
      • Operate marine vehicles for on-water testing and validation of integrated systems.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Essential:

    • Bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
    • Proficient with CAD for wiring schematics.
    • 1+ years of experience in electrical engineering systems.
    • Valid Driver's License (subject to Motor Vehicle Record check)

    Preferred:

    • Marine Boating experience
    • Familiarity with CAN networks
    • Three (3) years of experience in electrical and software engineering systems.
    • Knowledge of electrical systems, understanding of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
    • Background in control system algorithms and battery management software.
