Job Title: Electrician (Commercial/Industrial)

Rivers Electrical Services is a leader in designing, fabricating, and commissioning power distribution systems. We are seeking an Electrician with some experience in commercial and industrial electrical work who is eager to develop advanced skills in a team-oriented environment.
Job Summary:
The Electrician will assist in a variety of electrical installation and maintenance tasks for commercial and industrial projects. This role requires some prior experience in handling basic electrical work, such as conduit installation, cable termination up to 750 MCM, and equipment setup. The candidate should be comfortable performing foundational tasks independently and ready to expand their skillset under the guidance of senior electricians.
Key Responsibilities:
· Cable Termination and Installation:
Terminate cables up to 500 MCM with minimal supervision and assist with higher-voltage terminations.
Prepare cables for installation and assist with stress cone installations as required.
· Conduit and Cable Tray Work:
Measure, cut, and bend conduit (rigid, EMT) and assist with layout and installation of cable trays.
Install supports and ensure correct alignment according to project specifications.
· Trenching and Underground Installation:
Participate in trenching work for running cables to underground conduits.
Assist in securing and aligning cables and conduits in trenches as required.
· Power Distribution Equipment Setup:
Install and help wire power distribution units, control panels, and other electrical equipment.
Support installation of transformers, panel boards, and circuit breakers under supervision.
· Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation:
Read and follow basic electrical blueprints and wiring diagrams with oversight.
Work with the team to understand project requirements and ensure accurate installations.
· Safety and Compliance:
Follow safety protocols rigorously, using appropriate PPE, and adhere to company guidelines and NEC standards.
Learn and apply OSHA and local electrical code requirements in daily tasks.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· Experience: 1-3 years of experience in commercial/industrial electrical work or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program.
· Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in terminating cables, installing conduit, and setting up cable trays. Familiarity with electrical tools, wiring techniques, and troubleshooting basics. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and OSHA standards.
· Certifications: Electrical apprentice license or equivalent preferred; valid driver’s license.
· Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, and working in various field environments.
· Detail-Oriented and Reliable: Able to follow instructions accurately and take initiative when appropriate.
· Team Player: Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from more experienced team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in a commercial or industrial setting, such as manufacturing plants or construction sites.
· Experience with medium-voltage cable work and power distribution systems.
· Basic understanding of electrical testing equipment and diagnostics.
