Job Role
We are looking for a proactive and energetic Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team. You will be responsible to build and test prototypes and prepare equipment to support the operation of Orbital's technology at Oil and Gas wellsites throughout the US. The successful candidate will have a strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and experienced in operating specialty test equipment and industrial controls.
Job Duties (including but not limited to):
Participate with engineering team to develop and execute lab-based qualification testing.
Design and build fixtures and test equipment to support the testing of Orbital’s products.
Provide technical support to coworkers and clients on the wellsite.
Working with the engineering team to assemble and test9oth current generation and next generation equipment.
Plan and execute safe, timely and cost-effective prototype equipment test runs.
Instrumentation, data acquisition and data analysis to generate test reports.
Troubleshoot electronics, instrumentation, and controls.
Troubleshoot mechanical assemblies and systems.
Prepare technical reports including service reports and data analysis.
Complete documentation of repair / testing / assembly activities - cause of failure, actions taken, parts used, labor hours, etc.
Conduct failure analyses and root cause identification; in cooperation with mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams, assist in developing process and design mitigations; swiftly implement corrective actions and resolve system issues.
Diligently complete timesheets, site visit reports and all other documentation in a timely manner and in line with Orbital's internal procedures.
Participate in design reviews and provide key design-for-reliability inputs to mitigate risks before first prototypes are built

Qualifications/Requirements
5-8 years of experience working with electro-mechanical products.
Experience working with industrial control systems and pumping systems.
Experience in building and maintaining mechanical systems.
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work outdoors at remote wellsites in all weather conditions.
Effective communication skills and ability to establish good customer rapport are essential.
Travel with overnight stays will be required.
Essential Functions and Physical Requirements:
Ability to safely lift 50 Lbs with assistance on occasion.
Ability to safely lift and carry 25-30 Lbs continuously throughout the day.
Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach on a daily basis in a service function.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
Your profile
Associates Degree in Electronics, Mechanics or Engineering (advanced relevant experience in electro-mechanical product manufacturing and testing may be substituted for Degree Qualifications)
5+ years relevant experience in Equipment Manufacturing or Service
Experience in planning and running factory or field performance testing of electro-mechanical equipment including performance estimation, test instrumentation definition, data acquisition, data interpretation and analysis, and report preparation
