    Overview:

    ****We are seeking an experienced Electronic Warfare (EW) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development and deployment of Electromagnetic Battle Management (EMBM) software capabilities. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with various development and operational teams to ensure the software meets critical Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) requirements with an emphasis on EW. This role involves advising on the application of EW principles in software data, design, testing, training, and operational deployment. This role is responsible for addressing complex electromagnetic spectrum (EMS) spectrum operation (EMSO) concepts and missions through analysis of spectrum dependent systems and associated parametric data in support of Program Executive Office (PEO) Spectrum at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

    Locations:

    • Annapolis, MD or Ft. Meade, MD 3-5 days / week. Travel is required for about 10% of the time supporting user validation events and training

    Responsibilities:

    1. Collaborate with Development Teams: * Work closely with software developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure the EMBM software effectively addresses the needs of EW operations. * Provide subject matter expertise in EW concepts, strategies, and tactics to inform the development process. * Offer guidance on how data should be interpreted and displayed within the software, ensuring relevance to real-world EW operations.
    2. Application Testing & Validation: * Assist in the testing and validation of the software, ensuring it meets operational and technical standards. * Work with the testing team to develop test cases that reflect realistic EW scenarios. * Provide feedback on software functionality, identifying potential improvements and adjustments for better user experience and operational efficacy.
    3. Provide Guidance on Software Features: * Offer expert recommendations on the design and functionality of specific features within the EMBM application, ensuring alignment with EW mission objectives. * Advise on the integration of various data streams (e.g., radar, signal intelligence, jammers, etc.) into the software and how they can be leveraged for situational awareness and decision-making.
    4. Training Development: * Develop comprehensive training materials, documentation, and user guides tailored to different levels of users (from operators to senior leadership). * Work closely with PEO Spectrum to create realistic training scenarios that reflect actual EMS Operations and software use.
    5. Onsite Training & Support: * Deliver hands-on, onsite training to military and civilian personnel using the EBM software in operational environments. * Assist with troubleshooting, answer technical questions, and offer advice on optimizing the use of the software. * Continuously improve training methods based on user feedback and operational experience.
    6. Exercise Support: * Support EW and operational exercises by ensuring the EBM software is properly integrated and configured for exercise scenarios. * Collaborate with exercise planners and participants to ensure the software's role in simulations is accurate and operationally effective. * Provide guidance and technical support during exercises to ensure smooth software operation, including troubleshooting and ensuring that data is accurately interpreted in real-time scenarios. * Analyze exercise performance data and provide feedback for software improvements, helping to refine future training and operational capabilities.
    7. Continuous Improvement: * Provide ongoing feedback to the development team on how to enhance the software's functionality to better meet the evolving needs of EMSO. * Stay up to date on the latest EW trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure the software remains cutting-edge and operationally effective. * Adapt and refine training materials based on lessons learned from operational exercises and real-world feedback.

    Requirements:

    • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Electronic Warfare operations, with a deep understanding of EW tactics, techniques, and procedures and operational planning.
    • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Electromagnetic Battle Management systems, signal intelligence, radar operations, and related EW systems.
    • Software Development Understanding: Ability to translate operational requirements into software solutions, with some knowledge of the software development lifecycle. Support development of user stories and acceptance criteria, provide SME input to the development process of new capabilities.
    • **Training & Exercise Support Experience: **Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training for military or defense personnel and providing support during operational exercises.
    • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a focus on operational applications of EW technologies.
    • Clearance: Secret or above. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance

    Hard Skills:

    • Knowledge of Spectrum Data
    • Experience working with DoD Combatant Commands, JTFs, or Service equivalent command
    • Expertise with current Microsoft productivity applications
    • Knowledge of EW related industry
    • Knowledge of JEMSO
    • Knowledge of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools, and communications, radar, electronic warfare, and antenna theory

    Salary Range:

    • 100,000 - 135,000 depending on factors such as experience level, locality pay and the remote/hybrid/on-site schedule
