We are hiring up to 4 part time tutors for the current academic year.
JOB CLASSIFICATION: Part Time, Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY: As a Learning Coach/Tutor at the William S. Baer School via Moby Max, you are responsible for providing special needs students with individualized assistance to help them learn new concepts and complete assignments. Your duties include studying lesson plans, providing instructional support for students, and assigning additional projects and answering a student’s questions about a topic. You will report to the Manager of Extended Learning Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate individual and/or small group sessions with students virtually or in person.
Complete required documentation, including attendance rosters.
Participate in the organization’s continuing learning, including on issues of racial equity and equity in general.
Attend professional development to learn and facilitate school-based academic platforms such as Amplify, Zearn, iReady, and any others.
Organize and collect data from student results.
Maintain and manage scheduled tutoring sessions.
Be available between 2-4 days a week and 2-4 hrs per day.
Be able to tutor middle and high school students.
Be professional and on-time.
Professional writing skills are a plus.
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite including Word, Teams, and Excel.
Communication And Documentation
Establish and maintain communication with members of the school staff about student progress and aspects of the programs
Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner
Maintain all required documentation including, but not limited to, enrollment forms, case notes, daily attendance, formative and summative assessments, participant surveys, student snap shots, etc. in alignment with grant and organizational standards
Provide verbal and written reports to the Manager of Extended Learning
Agency/Team Cohesion
Responsible for facilitating and attending mandatory departmental meetings.
Attend agency meetings and events
Complete required training on time
Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures
Prepare for and attend regularly scheduled meetings with supervisor
Uphold organization values related to race, equity, and liberation of people and communities of color
Other Duties as Assigned: There may be additional project management duties should the aforementioned activities take less than 25 hours per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be comfortable tutoring students with special needs
College-enrolled students, former teachers, recently high school students
All will be considered and not limited to those listed above
Must have a commitment to working with students from a strength base perspective
Exhibit positive attitude
Mature and professional demeanor
Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to the ethics of good character, humility, and servant leadership
Authorization for background check for criminal and child protective findings

COMPENSATION: $18.50/hr averaging between 12-16 hrs per week.
