    POSITION SUMMARY

    Through research, data analysis, and the application of Lean principles and Systems Thinking, the Lean Consultant at Embraer will identify and support the Corporate Units in the Business Excellence journey to: identify improvement opportunities, implement the Embraer Enterprise Excellence Program (P3E), and disseminate the culture of excellence within the organization. The role will support business functions to improve and maintain process efficiency, knowledge and systems requirements, providing vision, coordination and strategic direction to Embraer's leadership team for all elements to the development, introduction and sustainability of Lean Principles.

    RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

    • Liaise with Corporate to assure alignment with P3E objectives and methodology.
    • Support the implementation of P3E, Passion for Excellence and Good Idea Program at all levels of the organization.
    • Openly and effectively communicate the value of Embraer's Excellence Programs.
    • Perform value stream analysis, identifying waste, coaching and driving Lean principles and methodologies for waste elimination.
    • Promote and conduct Gemba Walks with management and team members to continuously improve operations.
    • Partner with business areas to assess current processes and identify process improvement opportunities.
    • Plan, coordinate and implement Lean activities as required including: kaizen events or other Improvement workshops targeted towards improving the business's performance as a key driver of continuous improvement.
    • Coordinate, monitor and support departments to execute Lean processes.
    • Coordinate, monitor and support the various departments to implement lean projects.
    • Utilize project management tools (A3s, RCCMs, etc.) to drive the completion of process improvement objectives impacting safety, quality, delivery, and cost deliverables.
    • Advise corporate teams in developing and implementing business performance solutions consistent with business strategies using Lean methodology.
    • Coordinate kaizen or improvement events follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementation to assure timely action, appropriate management support, and achievement of expected tangible benefits.
    • Advise teams in developing and implementing business performance solutions consistent with business strategies using quality methodologies and other strategic tools.
    • Audits cells and value streams to evaluate the adherence and execution of all company policies, QMS and Regulatory Compliance.
    • Audits current controls and performance monitoring elements to assess effectiveness.
    • Audits and controls area and operational activities, processes and programs related to the Kaizen and Lean Environment process.
    • Challenge conventional wisdom by demonstrating successful application of Lean methodologies to improve product and process quality.
    • Monitor the improvement implementation, conduct critical analysis review and approve each project conclusion.
    • Coach, deploy and learn Lean principles.
    • Train and coach Cell Leaders, and project teams in the use of process improvement tools and methodology to ensure timely completion of projects with expected internal and external customer results.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS ETC:

    EDUCATION:

    • BS/BA Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business degree or similar discipline is required.
    • MS Graduate Degree in Industrial Engineering (preferred).
    • Lean Enterprise Certification (preferred).
    • PMP (preferred).
    • Lean Green Belt Certified (preferred).

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
    • 1-5 years of experience in the aerospace industry (preferred).
    • Experience with business processes, project management, Lean, Six Sigma.
    • Experience with Process mapping, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, SQDC, A3, 5 Whys, Kaizen, and Lean tools.
    • Experience in coaching and delivering training at all levels of an organization.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Strong data analysis knowledge.
    • Strong knowledge of Lean practices (methods) abiding by Embraer Values.
    • Continuous Improvement experience.
    • Ability to take an analytical approach to problem solving.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, combined with a strong analytical/technical aptitude.
    • Ability to inuence people in the pursuit of continuous improvement.
    • Ability to adapt to various work environments and project schedules.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of personnel.
    • Well organized, data driven, and results oriented.
    • Technical competency in Six Sigma skills, Lean, Kaizen, process management, change management and advanced statistical techniques is a plus.
    • Good understanding of Project Management Office (PMO) structure.
    • Advanced Portuguese (preferred)

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 25%- 50%

    • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, State and Federal regulations.
    • Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts if required.
    • Employees will be subject to the random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations.
