EMT - Industrial EMT
Supervisor: Fire Captain
Tasks:
EMS - Responds to EMS medical incident in a timely, safe and skilled manner, and participates in the treatment of patients suffering from medical or traumatic life threatening emergencies as an EMT-B.
Follows established Company procedures when responding to calls as well as instructions given at the scene
Correctly uses all relevant apparatus, tools, and equipment
Remains calm and poised in emergency situations and gains rapid control over the problem at hand
Responds to emergency rescue calls driving an ambulance quickly and safely to the site of the emergency in conformance with Company rules and regulations
Remains skilled in emergency life-saving procedures through training drills
Keeps the fire station and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in a clean, orderly and useable condition
Performs routine non-firefighting work tasks willingly and adequately such as working on Company records, maintaining maps and other documented information about the types and locations of buildings and facilities, and in planning fire suppression activities
Functions as a team member of the company at any emergency or non- emergency scene.
Able to meet the physical requirements to perform tasks
Meets continuing educational requirements and states current on all required qualifications.
Projects a positive image to the public as a professional.
Abides by the Company’s rules, regulations, policies, procedures, mission, guiding principles and firefighter empowerment, and the CAPSTONE Way
Knowledge:
Principles and practices of emergency medical services
Company policies and expectations.
Company geography.
DMV regulations.
Basic English and arithmetic.
Current policies, laws, and regulations pertaining to EMS and safety.
Incident Command System.
CAPSTONE Way principles.
Skills & Abilities:
Communicating effectively with the general public.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to use continuous and short bursts of muscle
Ability to climb stairs lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying objects and equipment.
Maintaining balance on uneven and rough terrain while performing work.
Follow verbal and written instructions.
Think and act quickly and competently in emergencies and under stress.
Minimum Requirements:
All candidates MUST have clean background investigation and successfully pass an initial drug screening upon offer of employment. The following sections provide the minimum qualifications for positions in non-exempt categories.
All candidates MUST remain in a Random Drug Screen program.
DMV/EDUC
Valid class C Driver License
Clean Driver’s Record
High School Diploma or GED
EMS
Healthcare Provider CPR with AED
EMT
PHYS FIT
Pass full Non DOT physical-Bending, pushing, pulling, crouching, vision and drug testing
Minimum Experience:
One (1) year in a professional EMS care provider as an EMT
Minimum Training Requirements:
TDHS EMT-B
