Position: Emergency Recovery Coordinator (ERC) | Lead for Partnerships & Community Engagement
Reports To: General Manager or Owner
Join our growing team at Paul Davis Restoration in Lynchburg in a hybrid role as an Emergency Response Coordinator (ERC) and Lead for Partnership & Community Engagement, where your empathy, communication, and business development skills will be key to the growth of our business that plays a critical role in our community. We help families put their lives back together after suffering catastrophic losses, and with that comes the opportunity for an incredibly fulfilling career where you know you are having an impact on the world around you. We believe what we do matters, but who we do it for--and who we do it with--matters even more. We place significant emphasis on our team culture and building a dynamic environment where you can excel, have a healthy life/work balance, and have a little fun along the way. We’re looking for a dynamic individual who not only possesses a solid foundation in bookkeeping and basic accounting principles, but who can also bring a positive, can-do attitude to a fast-paced work environment. If that sounds like you, we welcome the opportunity to get to know you better and talk about a potential fit with our top notch team!
Are you a former career or current volunteer first responder (e.g., firefighter, EMT, law enforcement)? This position may be an excellent fit that allows you to continue serving the community while developing a fulfilling and lucrative career.
What does an ERC with Paul Davis do?
Serve your community when it needs it the most
Generate revenue opportunities by directly consulting with property owners impacted by fire, water damage, or other large-scale emergency events
Cooperate and build trusted relationships with public emergency response agencies and private entities
Create and retain customer loyalty and preference by establishing a positive and trusting relationship with the customer
Participate in restoration-related community awareness events and programs
Proactively search for, acts upon potential opportunities
ERC’s work with owners, adjusters, and Project Managers, First Responders, and Community Leaders after traumatic events such as a fire or flood to help our customers receive the highest quality care as they transition from chaos to calm. As an ERC, you need to think quickly but in a controlled manner to ensure the property owner that you can take care of their property. ERC’s are dynamic relationship builders and comfortable when interacting in both one-on-one and group settings, and adept at developing trusted long-term relationships with other businesses and industry partners. Empathy is a critical and absolutely necessary personality trait for a successful ERC, as ERC's will frequently engage with customers on one of the worst days of their lives after losing their home or other property to a fire or flood. ERC's are often able to develop flexible schedules, as part of which they are frequently on-call and prepared to respond to a property fire at any hour of day or night to support our neighbors in the community. The role of an ERC is a difficult one, but it can be one of the most rewarding and fulfilling roles in the property restoration industry.
The team member who fulfills this hybrid position will also play a critical role in business development, as they will be the primary team member responsible for outreach and business development, including building business-to-business (B2B) partnerships, increasing brand awareness in our community, and driving organic business leads to our company. In this role, you will often spend time out of the office building and nurturing relationships with representatives in adjacent fields such as insurance, property management, and other local businesses. A successful candidate will be comfortable making cold calls, drop-in visits to other businesses, and striking up conversations in a confident, genuine, and enduring manner.
Why Join the Team? We are an industry leader in restoration and reconstruction for insurance providers and commercial properties throughout the United States and Canada. Built upon principles of customer service, dynamic decision-making, and leadership, we have the tools to continue our rapid growth.
