  • Responsibilities

    Aspire Health Alliance is seeking a dedicated and experienced Behavioral Health Emergency Services Program Director to join our team at South Shore Hospital's Emergency Department. This is a pivotal role where the director will ensure the provision of high-quality behavioral health clinical services to clients in need within the hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct coordination of care and transitions with the community ESP Program Director, as well as the direct supervision of all ESP hospital-based clinicians. Collaborating closely with South Shore Health Systems, the director will be integral in providing integrated systems and supports within a multidisciplinary team. Key responsibilities include overall service delivery, coordination, and integration of care, while maintaining regulatory, quality assurance, managed care standards, and requirements.

    Required Skills

    • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or other mental health discipline
    • Training in assessing adults in crisis as well as competency in assessing children and their families in crisis
    • Independent Licensure required (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LPC, etc.)
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and mentor a team of clinicians
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
    • Knowledge of regulatory, quality assurance, and managed care standards and requirements
    • Ability to manage fiscal responsibilities associated with program management
    • Crisis intervention skills with a focus on safety and de-escalation techniques
    • Cultural competency and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of two years’ experience in a Crisis Intervention setting
    • Minimum of one year experience in a supervisory role within a behavioral health setting
    • Demonstrated experience in emergency services or a similar fast-paced, high-stress environment
    • Proven track record of effective team management and program development
    • Experience with fiscal management and budget oversight for a clinical program
    • History of successful collaboration with hospital systems and community health providers
    • Experience in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and quality standards
    • Demonstrated ability to coordinate care and facilitate transitions between hospital and community settings
    • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care
