Veterinary Emergency Services (VES) in Verona, Virginia, near Staunton and located 45 min west of Charlottesville, is ready to welcome an additional Emergency Veterinarian to our tight-knit team. Our practice provides high-quality emergency veterinary care to Verona and surrounding communities. We are well-established, with an excellent reputation; clients are willing to travel for our services. Our high staff retention rates and addition of new veterinarians has allowed VES to expand our hours to 24/7/365.
Culturally, the VES team prioritizes supporting one another and sharing ideas to ensure its after hours shifts run smoothly and that each patient receives the best possible care. New and experienced veterinarians looking to build their experience with emergency care will be able to do so in a professional environment where the team looks after one another.
We're thrilled to announce that we'll soon be moving into a brand-new, purpose-built facility in late 2025. This new facility’s layout prioritizes smooth workflows and will have everything an experienced or developing emergency veterinarian could want!
New graduates eager for robust mentorship in emergency medicine are warmly invited and encouraged to apply!
Highlights:
- Collaborate with a five-doctor team + additional consistent relief doctors. No solo shifts for new or developing veterinarians.
- Member of a strong network with over 90% veterinary retention rate

- Doctor schedule consists of a mix of days, swings, weekends, overnights and holidays. Arrangement of shifts prioritizes great work/life balance.
- While the local team is open to discussing schedules that are a departure from their typical rotation, they prioritize a fair rotation. This allows us to provide consistent schedules to our doctors and support staff. We believe retention of great team members is the key to our success. Consistent, fair schedules help immensely with support staff and doctor retention.

- “They allow me the freedom to practice as I see fit…We can make almost all of our main decisions ourselves, at the clinic level. Their up front focus on honesty and improving over time keeps surprising me each time they demonstrate it. Veterinary medicine is not always the prettiest, easiest, happiest, or most satisfying line of work as we all know, but I can't imagine doing it for any other group. VetEvolve has been able to retain a small feel over time, as it grows, which is huge for me.” - VetEvolve Veterinarian
