Emergency Veterinarian at Veterinary Emergency Services near Staunton in Verona, VA - New Purpose-built Facility Coming 2025 with Tailored Mentorship
Veterinary Emergency Services (VES) in Verona, Virginia, near Staunton and located 45 min west of Charlottesville, is ready to welcome an additional Emergency Veterinarian to our tight-knit team. Our practice provides high-quality emergency veterinary care to Verona and surrounding communities. We are well-established, with an excellent reputation; clients are willing to travel for our services. New team members, aligned with our mission, vision, and values will help us accomplish this goal.
As an Urgent Care/ER-only practice, VES is now open 24/7 (Monday-Sunday: 24 hours). The practice is fully equipped with a variety of equipment for surgical and non-surgical needs.
Culturally, the VES team prioritizes supporting one another and sharing ideas to ensure its after hours shifts run smoothly and that each patient receives the best possible care. New and experienced veterinarians looking to build their experience with emergency care will be able to do so in a professional environment where the team looks after one another.
We're thrilled to announce that we'll soon be moving into a brand-new purpose-built facility coming 2025. This will be an updated high quality facility to better serve our clients and patients and have all the needs that an ER DVM would want.
New graduates eager for robust mentorship in emergency medicine are warmly invited and encouraged to apply!

New graduate, experienced emergency veterinarian or general practice veterinarian interested in transitioning to emergency medicine
We have capacity to add the equivalent of one full-time doctor while we are in our current facility. This will expand our ability to serve the community.
We are open to interviewing full and part time candidates.
At least one additional anticipated opening available upon relocation to new purpose-built facility late 2025. Preference will be given to candidates engaged pre-relocation.
Doctor schedule consists of a mix of days, swings, weekends, overnights and holidays. Arrangement of shifts prioritizes great work/life balance.
While the local team is open to discussing schedules that are a departure from their typical rotation, they prioritize a fair rotation. This allows us to provide consistent schedules to our doctors and support staff. We believe retention of great team members is the key to our success. Consistent, fair schedules help immensely with support staff and doctor retention.
