    Job Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The CASH APPLICATION SPECIALIST is responsible for processing high volume electronic and manual remittance transactions, posting complex payment and contractual adjustments to customer accounts. This position is also responsible for reconciling cash transactions, third party remittances, and credit/debit card payments. The Cash Application Specialist reports to the Cash Application Supervisor.

    KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Process and accurately apply all customer payments from various sources such as;

    · Live check preparation

    · Credit Cards

    · ACH Bank Report

    · Corporate Write-Offs

    · Wire Transfer

    • Identify and communicate discrepancies regarding payments received with the credit

    department, branch managers and staff accountants

    • Prepare detailed, accurate and organized, accounts receivable reconciliations for

    Branch cash accounts as well as internal requests

    • Maintain and update all customer ACH information

    • May assist in other A/R functions and special projects as time and work load permits

    CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    • Excellent attention to detail, follow up and organizations skills

    • Must possess strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization

    • Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities

    • Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills including v-look ups and creating pivot tables

    • Works well in a team environment

    • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • AA or BA in Accounting preferred or technical school

    • Minimum of 2 years high volume cash application experience
