Job Description
We are looking for an Employee Relations Manager to join our team.
Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, the Employee relations manager is responsible for facilitating employee relations and resolving human resource issues on behalf of a company. As a branch of human resource management, the Employee Relations Manager will oversee the productivity and quality of Field HR representative assigned to support employees in specific regions, while creating and implementing strategies to develop managers, increase employee engagement, and ensuring all Employee Relations are handled consistently, timely and withing the guideline of the company and legal compliance.
The position’s key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design Employee Relation program(s) to ensure a consistent practice is applied company wide and to enable decisions that are consistent with Company policies, values & culture
- Effectively develop Managers to comply with Employee Relations policy and programs
- Oversee all Employee Relations process
- Project Manage Employee Relation assignments to meet deadlines, and to improve or maintain a positive front-line experience
- Advise managers to increase employee engagement and retention
- Analyzes employee relation data to define and discern cost, policy implications and area for improvements
- Develop a strategy to conduct timely, objective, and thorough internal investigations including but not limited to allegations of harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and retaliation and ensure all required documentation and completed thoroughly and within the standards of the company
- Collaborate with legal and compliance team to conduct investigation that involve students and make sure investigation is completed effectively
- Develop and maintain a plan to escalate issues that need General Council and SVP of HR’s approval
- Provide advice, guidance, feedback, and career development to the team of direct reports
- Promote knowledge, understanding, and compliance with regard to company policy through coaching, presentations, and training
- Collaborate with SVP, HR on organizational strategies
- Develop and deliver training
- Provide expertise, consultation, guidance and coaching to managers and subordinates to address employee behavior and performance concerns; provide guidance and assist with the development and delivery of appropriate feedback or corrective/disciplinary actions, and which aligns with company approach, practices, and processes
- Conduct HR investigations to include; gathering and analyzing facts, applying relevant laws, policies and past practice to reach conclusions, recommend and influence management actions
- Interpret and apply understanding of corporate policies and practices, employment law, and other regulations to provide advice, guidance, or clarification for ER inquiries
- May serve as facilitator and apply interventions to resolve low risk employee disagreements, conflicts, or misunderstandings if needed
- Maintain required documentation, including intake and investigative notes, supporting documents and final reports
- Manage or participate on special projects/programs requiring ER stakeholder input, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Pay Range
The annual pay range for this position is $85,000 (minimum), $92,000 (midpoint), and $99,000 (maximum).*
*Typical hiring range is between the minimum and midpoint of the above pay range. Actual starting base pay may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skills, location and budget.
