Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Medical and Workers’ Compensation claims experience.
• Experience with Medical Terminology.
• Knowledge of Alabama Workers' Compensation law and experience applying the law to claims.
• Likes to Learn.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Values Teamwork.
• The ability to process, organize and process information in order to make decisions regarding the payment of claims.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Technological skills including Microsoft Office products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop professional relationships with claimant, employer, medical providers, and attorneys.
• Communicate with the employer on a regular basis to provide status reports and updates of claim activity.
• Manage a claim from inception to conclusion
• Investigating the compensability of workers' compensation claim.
• Calculates and maintains appropriate case reserves.
• Calculates worker's compensation benefits
• Pay compensation benefits and medical benefits that are owed.
• Work with outside vendors such as nurse case managers, investigators etc...
• Proper documentation of claims' files.
