Providence Staffing is seeking an Engineer 1 (Distribution) to support a major utility provider with operations in Trussville, AL, and Pelham, AL. This role is 100% onsite and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a critical infrastructure team responsible for maintaining and enhancing the electrical distribution system.

Pay Rate: $48.00 per hour
Location: Trussville, AL and Pelham, AL
Assignment Type: 100% Onsite

Responsibilities:

• Design, plan, and optimize electrical distribution systems, including overhead/underground lines, substations, and transformers.
• Conduct network performance assessments, including load flow, fault analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
• Specify and select distribution equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and protective devices.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and industry codes.
• Assess and manage aging infrastructure; recommend maintenance or replacements as needed.
• Coordinate and manage distribution projects from concept through completion, collaborating with construction teams and vendors.
• Evaluate requests for new electrical connections and design necessary infrastructure.
• Analyze data from monitoring systems to improve reliability and system performance.
• Respond to outages and emergencies with rapid technical assessments and solutions.

Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Prior distribution experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in ArcFM GIS Mapping or equivalent technology.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OneNote is essential.
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Must be comfortable working onsite full-time in Trussville and Pelham, AL.
