    POSITION SUMMARY

    **Lead team in the evaluation, design, and engineering of projects and systems to specification on projects ranging from new design/build to rehabilitation of existing facilities and systems. Provide ongoing technical guidance and engineering issue resolution as needed. **



    What you’ll do:

    1. Lead the production of new and review existing designs identified in plans, specifications, submittals and shop drawings. Ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications and design instruction.
    2. Identify design, process and equipment options that can satisfy client requirements, minimize costs and limit potential operational problems.
    3. Lead coordination with other disciplines and coordinate with client personnel, contractors, architects, and other project team members to ensure value engineering and the delivery of high-quality projects within the prescribed time frames. Develop and make presentations when necessary.
    4. Lead development of standards, methods, processes and procedures for reviewing, evaluating and inspecting designs.
    5. Determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and identify the most efficient and acceptable resolution.
    6. Coordinate with and/or direct virtual design personnel and junior engineers on assigned projects. Mentor and provide guidance on complex designs and technical issues.
    7. Lead on-site field surveys to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
    8. Write technical narratives in response to RFIs.
    9. Actively participate in project scheduling and budgeting.
    10. Responsible for the input and output of accurate engineering project data in Brandt computer system.
    11. Maintain timely and accurate oral and written technical reports regarding assigned engineering activities.
    12. Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.

    What you’ll need to be successful:

    • Detailed understanding of all MEP calculations and design
    • Ability to review RFP’s and identify items that will have an impact on constructability or cost.
    • Advanced understanding of building codes and standards
    • Ability to develop scopes of work for project development
    • Extensive knowledge of engineering and design techniques plus thorough understanding of all engineering disciplines
    • Excellent proficiency in all Design Software (i.e. CADD, Calculation Software, etc.)
    • Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
    • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment while adhering to project deadlines
    • Ability to lead MEP design efforts on medium-scale projects independently
    • Develop and structure mentorship groups to effectively share knowledge and develop inexperienced employees
    • Advanced computer proficiency, including MS Office to effectively execute design task
    • Ability to lead engineering and BIM teams

    What you bring to the table:

    • 4-year Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree
    • 8 + years of practical Engineering experience
    • Active Professional Engineering License
