Job Description
We are seeking qualified candidates for our Engineering Administrative Assistant opportunity to join our Williamston, Michigan team! This position provides clerical support to mechanical and electrical engineering by assisting engineers, taking phone calls, handling correspondence, creating presentations, performing research, and writing procedure manuals, as outlined below:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Works on assignments that directly relate to management policies and the general business operations of the company.
Is responsible to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment on tasks as outlined by Officers of the Company.
Prepares confidential correspondence including memos, reports, and meeting minutes.
Prepares and/or maintains files for routine correspondence and other records including engineering drawings and manufacturers’ technical drawing files.
Maintains mechanical and electrical engineering project scheduling information on project software.
Answers telephone, routes calls and gives information to callers. Provides periodic relief for companywide telephone answering system.
Handles confidential and routine incoming and outgoing mail, faxes and e-mail transmissions.
Maintains all departmental supplies.
Greets and escorts visitors, assists with scheduling appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements.
Maintains department vacation records.
Assists safety engineer with machine safety protocol and customer information board for purposes of documenting machine safety with each machine shipment.
Assist with and coordinate special projects and technical presentations as necessary.
Lends administrative support for the head of the Manufacturing Department as required.
TECHNICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepares customer machine manuals including converting drawings into document form, proofreading, editing and revising manual layout. Coordinates the printing of machine manuals with outside vendors.
Maintains department digital camera and prepares pictures for printing, i.e., customer safety pictures and miscellaneous pictures.
Assists with the operation and maintenance of blueprint machine.
Trains and assists other clerical and administrative staff as necessary.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree (AA) and/or one (1) year certificate from college or technical school; or three (3) to five (5) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
